Some years ago we started buying and restoring old abandoned village houses in Graniti where Salvatore was born. We renovated them in typical sicilian rural country style and started renting them out to friends at first and now we open them also to guests from all over the world. One thing followed the other and that’s how our «village-hotel» in Graniti was born.
The various houses and apartments are all situated within a 200mts range of the main house – the Villa Sicula – where we live and where the main reception is. Most units are self catering, e.g. they have a kitchen so that our guests are independent and can organise their stay according to their own needs.
We are committed to sustainable tourism by producing our own hot water and electricity through solar panels; we rent out e-bikes to our guests; we separate and recycle household waste; we buy from local shops and from the typical sicilian "flying vegetable sellers".
We also manufacture exclusive sicilian specialities and we produce our own EVO Missa Uno olive oil – which we sell to our guests and also abroad.
With this way of Slow Tourism we contribute to rural tourism "off the beaten tracks". Our guests have the possibility to meet the locals – which is a way of cultural exchange. And of course you sustain the local economy of our village with your stay.
